With Hangeng declaring that he would quit the group back in December 2009, Super Junior had a bit of a rocky start to their new year. Nevertheless, they were determined to seize 2010 with the support of their devoted fans.

Crooning "Bonamana, bonamana�" ("Whether you look or not, look or not"), Super Junior consistently delivered flawless choreography, charmed with their individual talents, and to top it all off, held a phenomenal tour across Asia.

With the international K-pop community looking on, these boys acquired the honour of being 2010's "Best Male Group".

One of Korea's most prominent annual music awards event, the Golden Disk Award is touted as the country's version of the Grammys. 

Held at the Hwajeong Gym in Koryeo University last night, a slew of top K-pop artists such as Super Junior, SHINee, SNSD (Girls' Generation), F.T Island, CN Blue, BoA, 2AM, and many more groups came dressed in their finest as they celebrated a momentuous occasion in Korean showbiz.

K-Pop fans across Asia had the opportunity to vote for their favourites, with one of South Korea's biggest boyband, Super Junior leading the polls with their 2010 hit song 'Bonamana', taking up 43.14% of total votes.

They fell short of expectations and failed to bring home the top prize of the Disk Bonsang Daesung award (Record of the Year), which eventually went to their fellow label-mates SNSD (Girls' Generation).

The nine-member girl group bagged the Disk Bonsang Daesang (Record of the Year) for Oh!, a grand prize awarded to the band for having the best full-length album. Riding high on the popularity wave in Asia, Super Junior, SNSD, and SHINee from SM Entertainment group also proceeded to sweep all three Popularity Awards distributed that night.

Super Junior wins “Best K-pop Group” at 2010 ASAP Pop Viewers Choice Awards

uper Junior was recently named the most popular Korean artist in the Philippines at the ASAP Pop Viewers Choice Awards 2010.

Artists who were nominated for the ‘Pop K-pop’ category were Super Junior, 2NE1, Wonder Girls,and One Way. Super Junior managed to outrank all three nominees by receiving 61.6% of the total votes, placing them in first place.

Last July 2010, Super Junior’s 4th album title track, ‘Bonamana‘, was ranked #1 on the MYX Philippines music chart for seven consecutive weeks, while their title track for their 4th repackage album, called ‘No Other’, placed #1 on the charts for five consecutive weeks.
